Luna Composition Lab and ChamberQUEER introduce the The Nebula Project, an ongoing collaboration made possible by the New York Community Trust. The Nebula Project aims to foster emerging composers of diverse identities from Luna Composition Lab and cultivate their authentic voices through mentorship and the commissioning of new work. For each presentation as part of The Nebula Project, a minimum of two Luna Lab alums will be commissioned to create new work for a stellar ensemble of ChamberQUEER performers.
The inaugural event, titled Little Gems after the Sagittarian gas giant NGC 6818, will take place on November 4 at The DiMenna Center in New York City. A ChamberQUEER-curated chamber ensemble of performers will premiere new works by Luna Lab alumni Lili Namazi (22–23), Sage Shurman (19–20), and a new version of an original work by Devon Lee (21–22) The program will be rounded out by a selection of notable compositions by Luna Lab alumni Caleb Palka (17–18), Jane Meenaghan (18–19), Alicia Erlandson (19–20), and Lucy Chen (22–23).
This partnership is made possible through the support of the New York Community Trust.
