
Azalea Twining
Azalea Twining (age 19) is a composer and vocalist from New York. At Luna Lab, she studied with Ellen Reid and composed Under Her Voices for piano trio, winning the 2021 G. Schirmer for Luna Lab Prize. Her most recent work, Enough Rope, is a song cycle set to poetry by Dorothy Parker, which premiered at MATA (Music at the Anthology) last Spring. Azalea has studied voice for ten years with Eileen Clark, and is currently a student of Jospehine Mondiardo-Cooper at Columbia University. Premiereing works by composers Elizabeth Hoffman and Cecilia Olszewski, Azalea has had the pleasure of singing at The Washington Square Contemporary Music Society, SEAMUS Festival, and MATA Festival. She hopes to foster a career as a composer/performer.
